The NZ Drug Foundation has been involved in major alcohol and other drug policy deba tes for almost 30 years\, advocating for policies and practices based on the best evidence available. Ross has been leading the work of the Drug Foundation since 2004. He has been a member of the NZ delegation at Unit ed Nations drug talks in Vienna and New York\, and regularly speaks at hu i\, community meetings\, and conferences. Before taking up the position\, Ross worked as a university researcher\, a foreign affairs adviser\, and a pizza delivery driver. He studied geography and Māori studies for a Ba chelor of Arts before going on to complete an MA in Development Studies\, both from the University of Auckland.
