Wine, Dine & Mingle
Sep 29, 2024 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join the Party Committee for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship on Sunday 29th September!

Our Wine, Dine & Mingle event is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow Rotary members in a relaxed and informal setting. Enjoy delicious food, sip on your favorite drinks, and get to know your fellow club members.

How it works:

  • Bring a dish to share: Everyone is asked to contribute a plate of food to share with the group. Whether it's a hot dish, a cold appetizer, or a sweet treat, we welcome all contributions.
  • BYOD: Feel free to bring your own drinks to enjoy throughout the evening.

No pressure, just fun!

This event is all about having a good time and getting to know other Rotary members. There's no need to spend hours preparing an elaborate dish. Simply bring something you'd be happy to eat yourself.

Plenty of on-street parking available.

Movie Fundraiser - Goldfinger
Oct 22, 2024 6:15 PM - 9:00 PM

Movie night with Downtown Rotary International Committee

Date: Tuesday 22nd October

Time: 6.15pm (for a 6:45pm start)

Movie: The one and only, the classic “Goldfinger” (1964)

Goldfinger may have been the third James Bond film, but it was the first to mix the 007 formula perfectly: shaken not stirred. The far-fetched plot strikes just the right note of diabolical menace as international bullion dealer Auric Goldfinger (Gert Frobe) schemes to detonate a nuclear warhead inside Fort Knox. On his trail is Connery's suave, smirking Bond, a man of cruel charisma and ruthless sex appeal. Hardly a scene goes by without a moment that's been engraved into the popular imagination

Venue:  Capitol Cinema, 610 Dominion Road,  Balmoral

Cost:      $30 per head

Members please register yourself and your guests via ClubRunner, and your Club Account will be debited accordingly. Guests of a Downtown member? Please register via your Downtown Contact.

Funds raised will be used in support of humanitarian Projects in Fiji and/or Samoa (within Rotary District 9920).

We need lots of people so please bring your family, friends and work colleagues for a great film and fundraiser event.

Email: andy@topic.co.nz

Please note this fundraiser event replaces our usual evening meeting on this date.

Kind regards,

Your RCDTA International Committee

Downtown Rotary - Comms Strategy Workshop
Nov 19, 2024 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

The Downtown Rotary Comms Workshop is open to all club members who would like to contribute in this in person workshop. Drinks & nibbles will be provided. The workshop will be hosted by Belinda, Kat & Tim. Please RSVP & join us if you can

Challenge: we currently have an ad hoc comms/PR approach largely based on the capacity of one or two key people. This means we don’t have a strategy that aligns with the purpose of Rotary club or the audience we want to capture or connect to.

Recommendation: Host a short workshop, to answer the key questions that will shape our comms strategy.

Questions we’d like answered (by anyone in our club who wishes to join us) are:
1. What's our purpose as a rotary club now?
2. What are our core products and services as a club? For example, is this RYLA, is this our membership drive, is it BOTS? We suspect there will be collection of important items that help to shape our comms strategy and our key audiences.
3. What is the reputation of Rotary and how that is changing or how would we'd like it to change in our community?

When we have the answers to these questions from the working group, Belinda and I can pull together the following outputs to shape our club:
- a relevant Downtown Comms strategy
- a comms calendar + content for audiences

Thanks, Kat & Belinda
