Weekly meeting – Tuesday 02/07/2019

Kristin Darragh

Accomplished New Zealand mezzo-soprano Kristin Darragh graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Auckland in 2000. She made her debut with the New Zealand Opera as Fyodor in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, at the young age of 23, before leaving to study at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London. Kristin then spent several years at Theater Lueneburg in Germany, where she performed in a number of renowned productions.

After 13 years performing and continuing higher training overseas – mostly in London, New York, and Germany – Kristin returned to New Zealand at the end of 2017 and has since made her name with the NZSO, the APO, and New Zealand Opera in particular; as well as putting on private performances at functions such as fundraisers, weddings, and birthdays.

We will be privileged to hear Kristin speak about her career to date and what she attributes her success to – and also to hear her sing!
