On Friday 16th October, Rob & Joanne Wills, Elaine Ebbett, Gill Johnston and Chris Hickey spent a morning packing emergency food parcels at the Auckland City Mission Distribution Centre in Grafton.

The Mission provides around 25,000 food parcels to Auckland-based individuals and families in desperate need each year.

These food parcels come in two sizes and are designed to provide 3 meals a day for 4 days, either for an individual or for a family of 4. This helps to ensure that struggling Aucklanders have access to a nutritionally-balanced food supply during a period of crisis.

Auckland City Mission food parcels are comprised largely of donated food items, though they also purchase core items when there are gaps.

Many thanks to Chris Hickey, our Auckland City Mission cause champion who coordinated this, Chris will be organising regular volunteering opportunities at ACM, keep an eye on your emails for more details.
