An action packed week of activity in the club – no delay, let’s get straight into it:
This week’s highlights
Hillary House Leadership Centre
On Saturday, Phil, Rob, Weilian, Chris and Byran volunteered as helpers at the Hillary House open day, which also celebrated 100 years since the birth of Sir Ed.
Though the public turnout on the day was less than hoped for, it was still a great opportunity for us to lend our support, and for our team to learn more about Sir Ed. We also got a chance to partake in the same ‘Everest’ snow brought along in the morning for the kids (it was actually from Snowplanet).
Thank you Hillary House Trustees for giving us this opportunity, and to Phil for organising.
Our newest member, Elaine
On Tuesday morning we had the great privilege of welcoming our newest member to the club, Elaine Ebbett. Though Elaine has extensive experience in Rotary through the Remuera Club, it’s great that we have the chance to get her involved in our club’s activities.
Welcome again Elaine, it’s going to be a blast.
Victoria Carter @ Breakfast
Tuesday morning we were all excited to hear from Victoria Carter, the President of the Northern Club, who shared not only her journey but also her goals in this role. We are very appreciative of the Northern Club in hosting us, and having Victoria join us as speaker reinforces this ongoing partnership.
Thank you Victoria, great hearing from you.
Thinking of you
James Langton gave us an update on the health of Peter Wilson, who was taken ill at Wimbledon, and Andy & Lee Picot’s mum, with Andy & Lee only just having returned home from staying with her in Europe.
We’re all thinking of you and we’re there to do anything we can to help.
