At yesterdays meeting we reviewed the status of the Rotary Club of Downtown Auckland Inc. Charitable Trust and the Club's goal of accumulating a large capital sum in the vicinity of $1 million to generate significant income for distribution among worthy recipients in our community.
Mal McLennan, the instigator of the original 'City of Sails Downtown Rotary Foundation' back in 1996/1997 which evolved into the current Trust, has pledged to donate $5000 to the 'RCDA Inc. Charitable Trust' and if we can achieve further donations totalling $50,000 he will increase his donation to $50,000 to match this sum.
In the hope of achieving this interim goal, which will double the Trust's capital, we welcome any donations being deposited into the following account:
ROTARY CLUB OF DOWNTOWN AUCKLAND INC. CHARITABLE TRUST. 12-3252-0053102-00
I'm excited to announce that in the first 48 hours since our Tuesday meeting, 2 members have agreed to contribute $5000 each towards Mal’s challenge.
It was great to hear from Mark Jenkins on his and Margarets recent trip to Iran, it sounded amazing and the photo's were fabulous.
Next week's speaker is Sharn Piper, his topic is Servant Selling. In a world where change is a constant and happening at an ever increasing rate. How do we remain true to ourselves while achieving our goals and why we should serve others along the way
I look forward to seeing many of you at next week's meeting.
Have a great week.
Gill
