BUY?  SELL? or HOLD? These may be some of the thoughts going through your head this morning while listening to our guest speaker Chris Anderson, Chief Marketing Officer of Barfoot & Thompson. Chris shared with us some historical data on property market trends in New Zealand and Auckland and his perspective on future home prices after factoring in the impact of steady low interest rates and immigration policy changes. While Chris did mention a disclaimer about viewing into a crystal ball, he personally felt there would be little change in property prices in Auckland as demand exceeds supply.

We also had a visit from Gea & Mia from Auckland Girls Grammar School (AGGS). They belong to one of the AGGS Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) business plan competition teams and are being mentored by members Gill Johnston and David Graham.  As part of their business plan, they are selling Kiwi-themed coloring books for $14.99. Please show your support by purchasing one for your family or friends.

Next week we have an important visit from District Governor Ingrid Waugh. DG Ingrid has visited 28 out of the 52 Clubs in our district (and is in Suva this week visiting more!). In meeting with her last week, I told Ingrid how proud I am of our club’s vibrancy and energy. It would be wonderful for her to directly experience our Club’s good heart. Ingrid has a lot of stories to share about what other clubs are doing in the District and what Rotary is doing internationally.  This is a great opportunity to benchmark and to learn from others. Please come and be part of the conversation.

Finally a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Peter Wilson (Aug 13), Pam Deal (Aug 14), David Graham (Aug 10) and Sheila McCabe (Aug 25).

I will leave it to you all to find out what they wished for on their special day.

Have a wonderful week & see you next Tuesday!

All the best,
Lucy
