Tales from an Electrical Engineer

Synopsis:

Brian is a graduate of the Auckland University School of Engineering. He worked in the electricity industry in NZ from 1973 until 1994, then moved to Australia and worked internationally until returning to NZ in 2010. His talk will recall some of the tales from his work in diverse places. 

Introduction:

Brian is an electrical engineer, educated in NZ, a graduate of the Auckland University School of Engineering, with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree. He was employed in the electricity industry in NZ, for the generation and transmission of high voltage power around the country, from 1973 until 1994. He then moved to Australia and worked internationally, living in Australia, Malaysia, Iraq, Jordan, Mozambique, Lao PDR and the Philippines, with the longest assignments of nearly 5 years in Malaysia and nearly 4 years in Mozambique. He also had brief assignments in Jordan and Indonesia. He now works part time from home in Papakura.
