The results of our 2026 member survey are out and were recently presented at a club meeting, providing great insight into what our members want from the club. It's clear that we really enjoy our meeting speakers and also the Northern Club as our venue. Newer members are looking for better engagement - ways to meet other members and to get involved in meaningful community projects. It's those members that we need to reach out to - making sure that we meet their expectations when they first joined our club.
A few initiatives are already underway, with several more planned for later in the year.
Our thanks to David Graham for disecting the survey results and putting them into a presentation format.
Member Survey
At the heart of the Downtown Rotary Club is a belief in connection, service, and a shared purpose. Recently, the Club took an important step in strengthening that foundation by inviting members to participate in a survey as an opportunity to reflect, share, and help shape the future.
Members spoke warmly about what makes the Club special: the companionship that has built over time, the sense of belonging, and service above self. The Northern Club continues to provide a welcoming and distinguished venue, while the weekly speaker series remains a highlight with engaging discussions.
Members have a shared enthusiasm for growth and new opportunities to connect. In response, the Club is introducing several new initiatives designed to deepen engagement and enhance the member experience.
A regular Member News Bulletin has been launched to keep everyone informed and connected between meetings, sharing updates, stories, and opportunities to get involved. Alongside this, a new Member Buddy System will help foster stronger relationships, ensuring that both new and existing members feel welcomed, supported, and included from the very start.
These initiatives reflect a broader commitment: to remain a vibrant, evolving community that listens to its members and embraces new ideas. The Downtown Rotary Club is not standing still—it is growing, adapting, and continually seeking fresh ways for members to contribute, connect, and make a difference.
As the Club looks ahead, one thing remains clear: its greatest strength is its people. And together, they are shaping a future that is meaningful and that will continue to be focused on the fellowship they share.
